Worthy Cause: Mac Joins Forces With Open Heart House for World AIDS Day

Beaut.ie gets a lot of requests to write about charity products and events and we walk a fine line with it because we simply can't post everything we're asked to, or else this would turn into a blog no one bar the charity in question wanted to read.

This particular event is very worthy: it's World AIDS Day tomorrow, December 1st, and Mac - a brand which has long been a supporter of AIDS awareness - has joined forces with Irish charity Open Heart House to raise much-needed funds. Staffers from the charity and Mac employees are taking to the streets and staging a sleep-out on Dublin's College Green, beginning from 12am tomorrow night and going until 8am on December 2nd.

Considering the weather, it's doubly impressive.  If you want to support the efforts of all involved, there will be on-street collectors so you can donate right there and then.

There are other ways to show your support for the cause: Mac's Viva Glam products always donate all proceeds minus VAT to AIDS charities (the current Cindy Lauper and Lady GaGa collabs are particularly good) and one of the Tartan Tale Christmas gift sets will do the same this year too.

The Is Noble to Give Viva Glam Lip Bag is €42 and contains Viva Glam Lipstick in Viva Glam V and Viva Glam Lipglass in Viva Glam V. The aforementioned Lauper and GaGa glosses and lipsticks cost €17 and €17.50 respectively and are also available now. I've been using the GaGa gloss over a matte pink lipstick a lot recently and liking it loads.
