Rate it: Feck Big Brother, Celebrity Salon is Where it's at this Summer
In truth, there are a few things we like (ok, *I* like) more than a car-crash reality TV show from TV3. Glued, glued, I have been to two series' of de Apprentiss starring Wild Bill Cullen and his stern sidekick Jackie, and happily, Celebrity Salon is definitely made in its image.
It's even got Breffny blustering about how it's all LIES and DECEIT - I mean, I'm in raptures. With every second of airtime no doubt sold left, right and centre to beauty brands in TV3's inimitable low-production-value product-placement style, we've already seen Brian Dowling spray tan a male model with a proper quotient of girly screams - Academie Bronz Express being the spritz of choice - Breffny huff and puff over being a bit crap at the whole hoopla and Celia Holman Lee threatening to blow her top at being told what to do and how to do it by mentor Elaine Butler Doolin.

An absolutely first rate therapist herself, I'm particularly tickled by Elaine's on-screen persona. I wouldn't want to cross her on Celebrity Salon if I was one of the contestants, but I know Elaine well and she is an absolute doll. She must have gotten a huge kick out of doing the show and she's great on it: I'm particularly enjoying her raised eyebrows at shoddily-applied face masques and she's not a bit afraid to shoot from the hip at the contestants when they're being a bit starry and not giving their tasks the required effort.
Airing Monday and Wednesday at 9pm for the next few weeks, my Sky+ box is set and I'm hooked after just two shows. What do you reckon to it? Have you tuned in yet?
