No more cheating! Monopoly set up a games helpline for the Christmas holidays
The head honchos over at Hasbro UK & Ireland have set up a Monopoly helpline for the Christmas holidays to help prevent disputes between families getting too heated.
The helpline has been set up in light of a recent survey which indicated that 51% of Monopoly games end in a row. The helpline will be open from December 24th to December 26th.
Craig Wilkins, Marketing Director of Hasbro UK & Ireland said: "We'll have experts on hand with the official rulebooks to instantly settle any disputes, and advice on how to resolve common complaints, with each person also having the opportunity to make a donation to Childline when they call."
The survey, which sampled 2,000 people also revealed the ten most common arguments between players during a game of Monopoly.
The most common argument according to the survey was "people making up rules as they go along."

The survey also gathered the ten most common ways that people cheat in the game:
1. Trying to keep quiet when landing on an opponent's property
2. Stealing money from the bank

3. Moving your token more or less than shown on the dice, to your advantage
4. Making up the rules that suit you, to someone who doesn't know
5. Sneakily adding more houses/hotels than you've paid for
6. Moving the dice to land on the numbers you want
7. Pretending your Chance/Community Chest card is a good one, when really it's a bad one
8. Fiddling the order of Chance/Community Chest cards so you get good ones
9. Bribing other players with real-life rewards for help in the game
10. Stealing properties from the bank
