It's becoming more and more important try to live a more environmentally friendly lifestyle.

Keep cups and reusable water bottles are becoming increasingly common which is great but there are some other things that you can do that you might not think of.

Here are five ways to make your day-to-day more environmentally friendly.

Ditch make up wipes

They are super handy on busy days but to be honest they aren't great for your skin and they are even worse for the environment.

Instead opt for an old fashioned face cloth and warm water, a bit more effort but your skin and the environment will thank you for it.

Use reusable sanitary products

Menstrual cups and reusable pads are on the rise and we are here for it. They are better for the environment, more affordable and surprisingly, more hygienic.

They are also simple enough to wash and store until you need to use them again.

Make your own beauty products

Your kitchen cupboard is full of natural ingredients that you can easily use to make your own beauty products.

So bypass all the chemicals and look online for simple recipes for moisturisers, scrubs, face masks, conditioners etc.

Some handy natural ingredients to have are coconut oil, baking powder, avocado and oats.

Fragrance with essential oils

Mix essential oils with some water in a bottle and use it for room freshener instead of spraying chemical filled air fresheners everywhere.

Some scents that would work well are vanilla, citrus, lavender and rose.

You could even get really creative and mix your own unique blend together.

Up-cycle or donate old clothes

If you have decent sewing skills or are willing to learn, you might be able to get a bit more life out of your old or out of date clothes and create something new.

If this sounds a bit too much for you (I'm with you there) then share the love and donate old clothes rather than just throwing them away.
