James Van Der Beek played the angst-ridden, all-American boy titular character of the show Dawson’s Creek for six seasons from 1998 to 2003.

As happens with these cult TV shows, it is the role that Van Der Beek has become synonymous with; this in spite of having starring in numerous TV shows since including One Tree Hill, How I Met Your Mother, Criminal Minds, and CSI: Cyber.

Actually, you can see Van Der Beek on the telly tomorrow night as he’ll be starring in a new comedy on Sky One called Carters Get Rich. He also has What Would Diplo Do? in the pipeline.

In spite of him keeping so busy (and not just professionally either, as he is married with four children), no one seems to have noticed.

The actor appeared on This Morning with Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield and the whole thing was super cringy.

After an opening that pretty much says how great Katie Holmes, Joshua Jackson and Michelle Williams have been doing since Dawson’s Creek and implies that Van Der Beek has not only aged but faded into obscurity (the actor was particularly peeved by the latter, saying "I have been on television in the last 20 years, just to let you know") since, things didn’t get much better after.

Van Der Beek clearly didn’t want to reminisce, saying “it was a long time ago” and that he did not think people would still be talking about it twenty years later. He even hints people should “let it go,” although he does acknowledge how important it was to his career.

Van Der Beek then goes on to talk about his new show Carters Get Rich and is noticeably more content on this subject matter. Still there is some awkwardness to be had when someone knocks something over in the background. Eek.
