What is it with rappers trying to kiss popstars on stage at the VMAs?

First there was Drake's awkward attempt to kiss Rihanna while presenting her with the Vanguard Award.

Then it was rapper G-Eazy's turn to be rejected on live television as he appeared to attempt to kiss Britney Spears during their performance of their song 'Make Me'.
