The Cranberries' Dolores O'Riordan has died aged 46

Very sad news today as it has been announced that Dolores O'Riordan, best known as the frontwoman of The Cranberries, has passed away in London. She was 46.

The Limerick native joined The Cranberries at the age of 19 and went on to global success with the band, thanks to songs like 'Linger', 'Zombie' and many others. In more recent years, she had fronted a band called D.A.R.K. and was in London recording for an unknown project when she died.

The cause of her death is not yet known but a statement via her publicists Lindsey Holmes Publicity read:

"Irish and international singer Dolores O’Riordan has died suddenly in London today. She was 46 years old. The lead singer with the Irish band The Cranberries, was in London for a short recording session. No further details are available at this time.

Family members are devastated to hear the breaking news and have requested privacy at this very difficult time."

She leaves behind three children.
