First Dates Ireland was an emotional rollercoaster that no one was ready or able for
"What is love?" was a question posed to one of the daters on the first episode of the new season of 'First Dates Ireland', and we think Haddaway said it best because last night's episode was like getting shot in the heart.
It was an emotional rollercoaster for everyone as we went from joyfully watching young couple Paddy and Laura successfully go on their first date ever to suffering the heartbreak of watching Richard be crushed by Timmie's rejection, and Twitter was the place where everyone went to vent and seek solace.

The unwritten rule of #FirstDatesIRL if you're not interested, you don't say to the other person 'you go first' to set them up for a fall 😡

It wasn't all heartbreak though, as RTE gave us an update about Paddy and Lauren after the show aired.
UPDATE! Paddy took Lauren on a 2nd date once Lauren was feeling better. He guessed she'd enjoy the zoo! He was right...again #FirstDatesIRL pic.twitter.com/Dtq3ZZovdw

And at least we have Maitre D' Mateo, the one constant shining light in all this heartache, to keep us going.
