Vichy LiftActive Supreme
First off, I love one cream that comes in two versions. It's so annoying when you like the sound of something but it's geared towards oily skin and yours is as dry as a certain sense of humour.
Vichy's new anti-ageing cream - LiftActive Supreme caters for all skin types with two formulas; for dry skin and normal to combination. Ok, I feel like normal to combination is a bit of a cop out sometimes, it makes me come over all philosophical. What is normal?
Now, let's talk about the product. It's quite exciting really! While I'm still thinking deeply, let me ask you - do you feel like your skin seems to age over the course of a day, never mind over a longer period of time, like say, years? If you do, apparently, it's a real thing, called 'over-day ageing', and L'Oréal research for Vichy showed that women's skin appeared up to four months older at the end of the day!
Well, I don't know about you but that's put the fear of God into me! I look four months older at the time I do most of my moving and grooving and schmooshing? Hand me a paper bag, stat!
Vichy have the solution of course. Their new LiftActive Supreme progressive anti-wrinkle and firmness correcting care cream (to give it its full name) promises to improve the look of your skin not only over the long term but during a single day too.
Now for the science part. It contains Adenosine, which has a retinol-like action that fills out wrinkles; caffeine to fight dark circles and puffiness; Rhamnose, which helps thicken the dermis; and Neohesperidin, an anti-oxidant. FYI it's paraben freeee.

I tried a good lump of it this morning in lieu of my usual moisturiser (Olay Regenerist Luminous Brightening and Protecting SPF 20), after cleansing and applying my serum (Olay Regenerist Skin Tone Perfecting) and before my primer (Dermalogica Redness Relief).
It's quite thick, which I like - I feel like it's giving me a good foundation for my foundation - but it glides on easily and I probably used too much. A pea-sized amount is enough. Despite its heaviness it soaked into my skin quickly and my skin felt quite refreshed. My primer went on smoothly over it and right now, my foundation is sitting firm and pretty.
LiftActive Supreme is aimed for women aged about 45 and older so I'm a bit young for it yet (hurray, I'm actually young for something!) but the results from the trials are impressive. 75% of women trialed said fine lines were smoothed up until the night and after 4 weeks 81% said their complexion was more even and 92% claimed more luminous skin.
It's available from pharmacies nationwide now and retails at €32.50.
