Urban Decay: Revolution Lipstick, Lip Liners And... Nail Polishes Are Back!
Urban Decay seems to be undergoing a bit of a transformation lately. Once known for its mad shades and punkish personality, the wild success of the Naked palettes is presumably the reason for the introduction of more ‘wearable’ shades.
You can still get the bright colours of course but there’s a definite change of mood in some of the latest launches. A toned down change of mood. A ladylike change of mood. A kind of... boring change of mood.
Thankfully that's not the case with THIS little lot. "Creamy, badass, luxury" say Urban Decay about their new range of TWENTY TWO lipstick shades (with corresponding lipliners to match) and people, I must concur with this description. They're amazing.
The lip pencils have had a bit of a revamp to coincide with the launch of the new Revolution Lipstick line (more of which later). The clear shade, Ozone, which is good for preventing lip colour feathering, is still around and Naked was revamped but the rest of the 24/7 Glide-On Lip Pencil shades (€16) are all new. The packaging is a true representation of the colour of the pencil within, which is handy. The formulation is waterproof, long-lasting and contains vitamin E, jojoba oil and cottonseed oil so the pencils don't dry lips out.

The Revolution Lipstick line (€20 each) is amazeballs. Creamy, long lasting and highly pigmented the whopping 22 shade collection encapsulates every shade from nudes to brights (Catfight is a particularly gorgeous bright pink). These are fantastic lippies; the packaging has a real weight to it and the product just glides on, while a blend of jojoba oil, avocado oil, cocoa butter and shea butter helps to keep lips hydrated.
Finally, harking back to Urban Decay’s 1996 beginnings as a lip and nail range, nail polishes are back! The two limited edition shades are Vice, a shimmery deep purple and Addiction, a gunmetal metallic. I love the packaging - the tiny skull on the lid is brilliant - and the polish goes on cleanly, thanks to the precise 400-strand brush.
So lipstick junkies what do you reckon? Is there a shade there for you?
