3 easy hairstyles that will get you out of your hair rut

Here are three easy and different hairstyles you can try out if you want to get out of your hair rut. We reckon even a rookie can do them.

Changing up your hairstyle can make you feel like a whole new you. It's nice to be different but sometimes you just get stuck in a hair rut. It might be lack of inspiration or lack of ideas or maybe you just don't have time for experimenting. In any case, we have picked out three hairstyles you can try out if you have medium to long length hair. You don't have to be super on-trend to be creative with your hair. I am impatient when it comes to hair and I can admit I lack natural talent when it comes to creating a hairstyle. So these three have been tried and tested by a rookie and even I can manage them!

Pimp your pony

The first style is a simple ponytail. Just wrapping a piece of hair around the bobbin to conceal it brings your ponytail to the next level. It gives it a finished, polished appearance. It turns it from 'I just threw my hair in a pony because it's so meh' to 'look at my sophisticated up-do'.

The boho pin back

This next style can be done with your hair straight, curly or even 'I haven't blow dried it-kinky hair'. It neatens up any look and gives it a slightly more kept appearance. All you need is four clips. I ake two large pieces at the front of your hair and twist them back. Then pin them about halfway to the back of your head with two pins for each piece of hair in an 'X' shape so they don't move.

The fishtail

This last one looks complicated but it's really not, promise. I have never mastered a french plait yet I was able to get this one right. The technique is simple and can be pretty messy and uneven and still look good. You just divide your whole hair into two pieces. Then take small sections from the back of each bunch of hair and pull them across the opposite section. Do that until you reach the bottom and secure with a hair elastic.

Whats your go-to hair style that you never stray from?
