These are the top four exfoliator ingredients to look out for
Exoliating your skin has come a long way over the past while. These are some exfoliator ingredients to look out for that make all the difference.
There is so much more to exfoliating than just scrubbing. Depending on the type of exfoliator that you use, it can do a lot for your skin. You need to check out the ingredients on your exfoliator to see just what benefits you are going to get. If you go for a scrub alone, it will just remove the dead skin cells from the surface of your skin, the dead skin that you can actually see. It will probably moisturise your skin and leave it looking fresh, plumped and polished too. However, if you go for one with little added extras it could be doing so much more for you. Let's talk about the exfoliator ingredients that work hard for your skin. These are some skin-changing ingredients to look out for in your exfoliator.
Papaya
Lots of exfoliating scrubs will include papaya in the ingredients lineup. It's a great natural ingredient that works wonders on your skin. Papaya is a natural exfoliant. Papain is extracted from the papaya and it acts like a little Pac-man. It eats up all the dead skin cells on the surface of the skin. It is also naturally moisturising, brightening and anti-ageing. It's very gentle on the skin so even if you are sensitive you should be able to use an exfoliator with papaya as one of its main exfoliating ingredients.
Hyaluronic Acid
Hyaluronic acid is one of our very favourites. It's in lots of skincare products so watch out for it in your exfoliator - it is super for hydrating your skin. Hyaluronic acid is naturally occurring in our bodies so we absorb it easily. Lots of exfoliators can leave your skin feeling tight and dry after using them, particularly if you use them with water. If it contains hyaluronic acid, it will hydrate your skin while you exfoliate to leave your skin looking fresh, plumped and moisturised.

Jojoba
We love jojoba in our exfoliators because if you see them included in your scrub it means that it's environmentally friendly. Jojoba beads are good for your skin and they aren't harmful to the environment. Many of the old scrubs had to be taken off the market to replace the old nasty microbeads with something natural and non-harmful to the environment. Jojoba esters are great for making a gentle exfoliating scrub. We love them because you still get to have a scrub but jojoba isn't too abrasive on the skin.
Glycolic Acid
Glycolic acid is a really effective exfoliating ingredient. It eliminates the need for scrubbing altogether. Glycolic acid gets right down to the deeper layers of your skin to loosen out the skin glue that holds all the dead skin cells hostage. It allows your skin to shed old, dead skin cells that go deeper than just the surface of your skin. Glycolic acid is a fantastic addition to your skincare regimen if you have pigmentation, dark spots or acne scarring. This is another great option for reactive skin because it means no scrubbing at all.
Do you like the new method of using acids to exfoliate or do you prefer an old fashioned scrub?
