Too Faced Liquif-Eye Shadow Collection
Eventually it arrived, I was a quiver! I ripped the packaging open, admired all the pretty colours - the palette contains 12 shades ranging from blacks, browns, blues, greens, yellow, orange, silver and pink. I was envisaging all the ways these shades would enhance my makeup look with sharp, clean swathes of highly pigmented colour swooping across my eyelids. I loaded up the liner, and got busy.
Sadly, my fantasies of lovely liner remained just that. Out of the 12 shades only 2 or 3 made any sort of impact at all - the others looked completely wishy washy no matter how much shadow I loaded into the liner and how many times I applied it. Bah! The blue to the top right worked really well, and the black on the bottom right and the olive green in the middle of the 3rd row worked pretty well. But the purple was a complete washout, and all the paler colours were nearly invisible. In the interests of proper testing, I did try it out with some of my MAC shadows and the results were fairly similar.
There were two other things that riled me about this - in the case of the blue, which did work well, it was really difficult to get it back off again. The colour was practically tattooed onto my eyelids, and even after hefty scrubbing would not come off completely, leaving me with a sort of weird veiny effect on my eyelid. Glam.

My last gripe is to do with the packaging blurb - 'you've been asking for it and baby your gonna get it good!'. YOUR!? The spelling Nazi in me was outraged! It's kind of no wonder the palette is so disappointing if they can't even pay attention to detail as fundamental as spelling. That may seem a minor gripe to most, but it's the sort of thing that drives me absolutely witless.
All isn't lost though - I'll use the colours as shadow on their own I'd imagine, but this palette just isn't worth the cost vs gimmick factor. If you're keen on the concept and would like to try it out, then just buy the Liquif-Eye transforming liquid on its own and use it with your own shadows.
