This skincare ad from Thailand has to be seen to be believed
A Thai beauty ad has unleashed a storm of controversy over its message about pale skin being the key to success.
"Just being white, you'll win" says the actress in the 50 second spot for Seoul Secret, a Thai beauty company.
According to the commercial, the whiteness the actress has invested in will vanish without the pills. The visual representation of this has to be seen to be believed.

Yep, so the overall message is to take these pills or not only will you lose the desired pale look that you wanted, your skin will also turn black which of course nobody wants?
Seoul Secret have since pulled the advert from its online platforms and issued the following statement:

"(We) would like to apologize for the mistake and claim full responsibility for this incident. Our company did not have any intention to convey discriminatory or racist messages,"
While it's nice to see that they had the good sense to pull the ad immediately and apologize you really have to wonder how they thought people would react any way positively to this kind of message.
