There are no ugly women, only lazy ones. Discuss
Oh why didn't I make more of an effort this morning?
When Helena Rubinstein made this sweeping statement she made it clear that she disagreed strongly with the notion of natural beauty and the ability of women to jump out of bed radiating fabulosity each morning.
What she was saying basically was that looking good is a lot of work and no matter how, er, 'unfortunate' you might be, a slick of lipstick and a new hairdo will make everything tons better. Programmes like Ten Years Younger and How to Look Good Naked agree. It's not rocket science, it's just the ability to play up your assets and hide the things that you're not particularly keen on.
I know on lazy days where I stay in my pyjamas, supposedly working from home, and don't bother to put on makeup or brush my hair I not only look like crap - I feel like it too.
