SS11: Smashbox Bloom Collection

SS11: Smashbox Bloom Collection
By Beaut.ie  | Jan 10, 2011

This little lot'll land from Smashbox in February: Bloom's the name of the collection and it's full of wearable neutrals and - sorry for the cliche - pops of colour like that Cream Cheek Duo, 4th from left above. Lets take a closer look at that, shall we?

The shades are Blushing and Peony and it'll be €26 of your Eurobux.  I don't think I've ever used one of Smashbox's cream blushes as it happens. The brand suggests applying solo or together, applied with fingers or a foundation brush. I find a microfibre brush great for cream blusher, because it makes it very easy to apply it faultlessly - and flawlessly.

What else is in the collection, then?

The In Bloom Eyeshadow Palette features 10 mattes and shimmers plus a brush, for €49. There's a lot of very wearable colours here, eh?  Shades are ballet pink, lavender grey, golden pink, warm taupe, bone, soft violet, marine blue, shimmering copper, moss and nude.

For lips, there are two Limitless Long Wear Lip Glosses with SPF15. They're €21 and will come in Timeless (soft pink) and Endless Kiss(coral pink). Love the shades, not sure if they will indeed provide the six hours of wear the brand claims.

Lastly, three interesting little products will land on counter. On your left you're looking at two Soft Focus Power Eyeliners in dark brown and heather grey, €22 each. I have something similar from another brand and I love it - if it's the same sort of thing (I've yet to receive samples), there's a spongey applicator inside which makes applying a smudgey line a cinch.

These are great for getting definition at the lashline if you're a bit of a klutz with liquid and you can use the tip damp too, which'll give extra intensity. The last product is Artificial Light Liminizing Powder, €20. It's inspired by the brand's Artificial Light Luminizing Lotion, and is described as a soft shimmering powder to highlight and brighten.  Use on the eyes, cheekbones and down the nose.

So, that's the spring lineup from Smashbox and the last thing I have to say about it is that the Sterling/Euro conversion is absolutely excellent - there's not much more than a €2 difference on top of the Sterling price for any product. Bravo!
