Sneak Peek! Urban Decay Vice 3 Palette Masterclass

Sneak Peek! Urban Decay Vice 3 Palette Masterclass
By Beaut.ie  | Nov 10, 2014

Danielle Roberts is a well-known makeup artist with Urban Decay and Youtuber, and she was in Debenham's on Dublin's Henry Street last Friday to introduce Irish ladies to Urban Decay's new Vice 3 Palette.

Urban Decay has always been the brand for palettes, but since the Naked Palettes they've got a little braver with colour. Their Electric Palette  was an absolutely fantastic foray into full-on colour, and now with Vice 3 they've created something much more wearable while still experimenting with colour, namely gorgeous seasonal plum tones which we haven't seen from Urban Decay in a long time.

Until we get our hands on the palette we can't give you the up close and personal details, but Danielle's masterclass was really enlightening. She favours a heavy makeup look almost inspired by drag makeup and that's a perfect pairing with Urban Decay since the brand is brilliant at  full-on, fun makeup.

Danielle gave us a run-through the palette and you can see the look she created below. It really does make for a striking contrast! The undereye colour is actually a plum lip liner smoked out with a combination of the Vece 3 palette's plum shadows and the effect is very pretty.

This is a no-holds-barred makeup with a doff of the cap to a '90s lip and the contour is created using a deeper foundation shade buffed out around the edges of the face and under the cheekbones. And you've got to love that dramatic liner paired with those absolutely amazing 'Perversion' lashes!

This look certainly isn't for the faint of heart, but this palette contains a combination of nudes and colourful shades in different finishes that make it well worth a look. I certainly wouldn't mind finding one of these in my Christmas stocking...

Danielle's approach to makeup is very architectural. When doing eyes, she works from the brow bone down rather than starting on the lid as most of us might. Her tip for adding a pop of wearable colour along the bottom waterline is very handy, though, and easily translatable into a more everyday makeup look.

At €48 for twenty very high quality shadows, I'd call this a bargain - this palette can cater for hundreds of everyday and night time eye looks without even breaking a sweat.

What are your thoughts? Is a palette on your Christmas wish list? Tell us in the comments!

Available Nov 1 from Debenhams, selected House of Fraser and online.
