Shopping My Stash: Get The 90s Look!

Because it was such a major Fashion Week trend we can be certain that the beauty brands will bring out lots and lots of 90s inspired beauty products for us to buy. Expect oceans of taupe, mink, caramel and chocolate between now and next spring – basically, if it’s brown, then it’s bang-on trend.

And actually, that’s bloody brilliant for our pockets, because who doesn’t have a rake of brownish eyeshadows and lipsticks sitting at home? Not me, anyway – I shopped my stash and came up with about a bajillion products to help me nail the 90s look.

Here’s what I came up with for eyes:

• Bourjois Smokey Eyes Trio in 13 Brun Wood  (rich and smokey browns)
• L’Oreal Color Riche Les Ombres in Beige Trench (shimmery and so versatile)
• Ellis Faas eyeshadow pen in E107 (gorgeous taupey brown cream)
• Clarins Mineral Eyeshadow in Taupe (a brilliant basic)
• Maybelline Colour Tattoo 24 Hr Eyeshadow in Permanent Taupe (love these!)
• Catrice Made To Stay Longlasting Cream Eyeshadow in 050, Metall of Honour (and these!)
• Catrice Absolute Eye Colour in 350, Starlight Espresso (also great for brows)
• Boots No 7 Stay Perfect in Mink (very well loved, as you can see)

And for lips? Swatched left to right we have:

• Clarins Rouge Prodige in Peach Sorbet
• Urban Decay Lip Junkie Gloss in Naked 2
• Estee Lauder Signature Lipstick in Terracotta (check the gorgeous gold case)
• L’Oreal Rouge Caresse in 501, Nude Ingenue (SUCH good lipsticks!)
• Dior Addict High Shine Lipstick in Beige Style (this is years old and I love it dearly)
• Rouge D’Armani in Beige 111 (the perfect beigey nude)
• Collection 2000 (as was) Cream Puff Moisturising Lip Cream in Powder Puff
• Ellis Faas Milky Lips in 206 (swatched but not photographed, my bad!)

Finally, turns out I have a few 90s neutrals for nails, an’ all:

• ARTDECO Ceramic Nail Laquer #69 (the café au lait shade, from the same collection)
• Sally Hansen Commander In Chic (from the fab Complete Salon Manicure range)
• Dior Vernis in Bengale (Dior do excellent nail polishes, this is no exception!)
• Essie Merino Cool
