Inspired by Japanese Calligraphy, Shiseido's new eye collection a stunner
Shiseido's new AW17 eye collection is inspired by Japanese Calligraphy. From beautiful paper light shades to precision brushes, we're loving its elegant simplicity.
Shiseido has just launched their new AW17 eye makeup collection. Regular readers might know that, though, as we featured the clever new mascara last week. Since then, we've had time to play with the rest of the collection, and it has a lot to offer, especially if you're an avid eye makeup fan.
In the AW17 collection, you'll find the new mascara (obvs), accompanied by six soft gel eyeliners, a new precision eyeliner brush and the beautiful "Paperlight" cream eye colours.

Each of these products was inspired by the ancient traditions of Japanese Calligraphy. The Inkstroke eyeliners (€28) are potted, as you'd imagine traditional inks to be. Their gel texture allows for a super smooth application, aided by the accompanying small brushes which have a long, tapered tip. The Inkstroke Eyeliner Brush (€28) offers a bit more accuracy, as it has a curved shape that can get into lashes easily.
Shiseido always manages to make beautiful cream eyeshadows, and the new Paperlight formulas are no different. Inspired by Washi Paper Lanterns, they offer a translucent colour that's incredibly soft and wearable. Our favourite shades are the delicate Usuzumi Beige Grey and the beautiful Sango Coral which doubles up as a nice blusher.
The new AW17 Collection from Shiseido is available now in Shaws Department Stores, selected pharmacies and Harvey Nichols.
