She's moving out: what can you do when your hairdresser leaves ?
Oh god it's like a divorce.
"I'm leaving" she announces casually.
"What?" I say shocked. I try to tell myself that she means she's going on a holiday. Or maybe popping out to the shops to get some of that chocolate we both like so much.
But no. She's going to another salon in a galaxy far, far, away. Well it might as well be because it's the other side of the city.

But what about me? Outwardly I'm congratulating her on her promotion/new job - but I'm screaming inside. It took me so long to find you! What will I do now? Who will I go to?
I know only too well how it will work. I will have to trudge around to a few different salons, collecting recommendations where ever I go. Following leads from acquaintances who have a stylist they like and from friends who have someone who's okay.
I'll try a blowdry first. And then if that goes well I'll go to the next stage. But my heart will be in my mouth for the first cut and my stress levels will be up to ninety.
What do you do when this happens?
