How to prepare for intimate waxing
One of the chores some women endure in the name of beauty is waxing.
Just the word strikes dread in most women.
Sure, who likes the idea of having hair ripped from their brow bone, legs or other more delicate areas?
Well, some women actually find it empowering.
If you want to embark on the “waxing” journey but want all the facts, look no further. We have everything you need to know.
Be Clean
For everyone’s benefit a shower right before waxing makes things nice and easy for you and your therapist. Plus, a warm shower will open up your pores so the hair will come out easier. If you have to go to the toilet, it's okay to do that right before you walk in for the wax. It's better to not have to worry about holding it through the procedure.

Be Calm
If you are tense, you're more likely to flex your muscles which will make the hair hurt more as it's coming out.
Taking a bath or shower beforehand might be just what you need to feel calm, but there are other ways to relax like meditating or listening to soothing music. Find something that works for you.
Wear Loose Clothes
You should try to wear some loose-fitting and breathable bottoms. Your skin will be a little sensitive afterwards, so if you wear something tight it could rub against and irritate you. It is recommended you avoid wearing a thong because wax residue left on you can get stuck and is painful to pull away.
Take Pain Relief (Optional)
If you're worried about pain, take an over-the-counter painkiller about an hour before your appointment. Some claim it significantly helps with the pain.
Should you get an intimate wax while you’re on your period?
The short answer is no. It's awkward for the therapist and also be much more painful for you. You're more sensitive when you're on your period and the five days leading up to your period. It could potentially get very messy, and neither you nor your therapist wants that.
