Powder up With Maybelline Dream Matte Powder
In de interests of fairness in product testing - because in general I only want to use posho products - I've been giving Maybelline's newish Dream Matte Powder a whirl recently. Designed to complement their existing Dream Matte range, this shine-controller comes in a nice chunky compact with a swivel-out mirror and decent enough powder puff. I got rid of that straight away - I find they smear foundation and give a very compressed and chalky finish - and tried it out with a nice soft powder brush instead.
The result? A very sheer finish that sets foundation well and doesn't add colour - something cheap powders tend to do, and I hate that. The product itself isn't as silky as something in a more expensive bracket but that's to be expected. What this is, is a decently priced product (about a tenner) available in 8 shades that's perfectly good for day-wear.

Personally, I won't be swapping my Laura Mercier finishing powder for it, but it's perfectly good product for those on a budget.
