Poll: Do We Actually Need Eye Cream?
Eye cream is one of those cosmetic products that tends to divide skincare experts. Some (like Caroline Hirons) recommend eye cream use, while others (like Paula Beguoin) will tell you that they're unnecessary. Of course there's tons of pseudoscience and confusion from the cosmetic industry pushing the products, which basically preys upon our fears of looking older. Fears which they have done their utmost to perpetuate of course.
And me? Well I'm speaking as someone with crows feet that you could park a bike in and as such I have a special interest in the subject. I think that some eyecreams are great and I have actually noticed firming effects from them. I've seen people clear up lines under their eyes in a few weeks with a tube of Nivea Q10 and I've also seen people who "swear" by really expensive creams that don't seem to do much at all.
So the tiny jar. And the humongous price tag. What should we do?
An eye cream that I love is one that's been around for a while - Lancome Visionnaire and I'm also very fond of Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair. But my absolute favourite method at the moment is to take facial oil and serum right up to the eye area and on the nights I do that I don't bother with eye cream.
