More Origins of the Species

My recent experiences with Origins have been pretty whelming, to quote from 10 Things I Hate About You. No, I was neither under nor over, but just on-the-level whelmed by their offerings. I was disappointed to not be more moved by a brand you hear so much about in terms of 'nature meets science equals amazing results'.

I've already blogged about my experiences with their A Perfect World White Tea moisturiser, which was so extremely whelming that it's now gone to Beauty Swap Siopa, and at the same time I also bought a Checks and Balances Frothy Face Wash.

I love face washes - gel or foaming cleansers are my absolute favourite way to cleanse because they're so hassle free. I always have mine in the shower and I incorporate it into my very quick morning routine - lep into shower, thrun a bit of showergel about the place whilst simultaneously lashing on the cleanser of currrent choice. That keeps my skin clean and breakouts under control, and Checks and Balances was no exception in those stakes - I'd buy it again because it's a product that suits me and which I found worked for my skin.

But a word of warning - DO NOT GET THIS STUFF INTO YOUR EYES. It is EXCRUCIATINGLY painful. Early on I carelessly foamed a bit too much on my face and some of it got into one of my eyes. Holy Jesusing Christ - it felt like someone was poking my eye out with a hot stabbing stick. It stung, it burned, and no amount of clean cold water could calm it. I ended up with a streaming, red eye, out of which mucus trailed for a couple of hours afterwards. I shreiked, I meeped. In case you think I'm exaggerating - I'm not. Ok, not much anyway.

Basically, this stuff is great, but for the love of all that's sweet and holy, keep it away from your peepers. You can buy Origins in Arnotts or Dublin airport - which is where I got my Checks and Balances, in a set for €39, with a Modern Friction and a White Tea Serum.
