New Scents in Town and the Women Who Wear Them
Some scents seem to be created specifically for certain people. The packaging, the bottle and the scent itself can sometimes inspire the image of a 'type'. Of course it doesn't matter if you're not a femme fatal (anything by Beyoncé) or a woman who frolics through fields (Dolce & Gabbana Dolce) if you like the scent, it's for you. But still, these three new scent releases immediately conjured up images of the women who they were made for in our minds.
Thomas Sabo's Eau de Karma was inspired by the jewelry designer's range of Karma beads and it's exactly what you would think a karma bead wearer would wear. Cool, bohemian, with a flowing mane, tanned and wearing head to toe white, with an amazing holiday home in the nice part of Ibiza, don't bother to arrange to meet for cocktails with the woman who wears Karma, for she only drinks home-made juices and is always in bed for 10.
Eau de Karma is contained in one of the prettiest bottles we have come across in a long time. It's a floral, fruity scent with lotus, peony and rose at the heart.
Available from September 18, RRP 30 ml €34.95 RRP 50 ml €54.95
The woman sprayed in the new Adidas Originals fragrance, Born Original for Her, is not one in a mucky football kit. Adidas is the kind of sports brand that fashion people wear, the kind that never gets dirty. The woman we imagine wearing it is swishy of hair with legs that go on for miles - that's why she wears shorts - who loves larking around with the guys, while her gal pals secretly hate her.

It's fruity, based around a sweet candy apple accord, but with hints of coconut and jasmine for a cool twist. Born Original for Her is part of a 'fragrance duo' - the Born Original for Him guy owns 50 pairs of runners but never actually runs.
(Available now, 30 ml €23.95)
The Elizabeth Arden Always Red woman is a powerful city girl dressed in a black leather dress and skyscraper heels whose signature makeup look is a slick of deep red lippy. She works hard and plays hard but never looses control (we want to be her).
(Available from September 16th. 30 ml €36 / 50 ml €38 / 100 ml €76)
Now, Soap & Glory have a new range of body sprays out for which there is one for everyone. As usual, the packaging is vintage-y and fun and they all have fabulously frivolous names: Fruitigo, Mist You Madly, Sugar Crush, Orangeasm and Original Pink.
Available in Boots stores and on Boots.ie for €9 each.
