Must Have Mac Shadows; Show and tell!
There's no bigger eyesore than an eye-shadow palette with empty spaces. I bought my Mac twelve palette a few years ago and have been trying to fill the gaps since. Seeing as the shade selection can be very daunting, I thought it'd be a winner of an idea if we all listed our favourites.
Admittedly, most Mac shadows don't make me week at the knees but there are a few that I'd be lost without and would definitely buy again.
First up is Sumptuous Olive, a true golden olive with a buttery texture that makes application and blending incredibly easy. The finish is a soft sheen that reflects light, making the different tones in the shade stand out - resulting in a super luxe and spendy looking shadow.
Patina is a must-have if, like me, you're a bit crap at applying eye-shadow. It's a lightly pigmented dusty gold that's shot through with some very subtle and finely milled glitter.

Because it's more sheer than most shadows I own, I can apply it haphazardly and still achieve a pulled-together look. On top of that, it can be used to blend out harsh lines, if you've gotten too enthused with crease work.
Paradisco, or Compliment Getter Ultra 2000 as I like to call it, is a very softly pigmented coral with some shimmer. The effect is gives is so subtle that I often layer it over a * or * in a complimenting shade.
This earns its place in my top shadows for two reasons; how it makes typical slodge-green Irish eyes light up and, if you need to pack lightly or save your cents, it can be used as a blusher too.
Finally, what I believe to be the star of the entire Mac eye-shadow range, Club. You'd have to pry this from my swatch-covered dead hands. I've already mentioned in it my *, but anything worth mentioning is worth mentioning again.
This, like Sumptuous Olive, blends like a dream and has a peacock feather-like reaction to light. It transforms from muddy brown to a mahogany to a silvered green and on; this fella gives the effect of a whole palette's worth of shadows.
So, agree with the shadows that made the cut or are you horrified that your staple isn't listed? Let me know!
