L'Oreal Paris Colour Infallible Eyeshadow Review + Swatch
Finding these in a Parisian shop in January made me stop and look twice and when I discovered they were being launched here, I blogged about it eagerly.
Now one's landed on my testing table, so what have I made of L'Oreal Paris Colour Infallible Eyeshadow, then?
I LHAVE IT. For €10.79, this is a good deal for 3.5g of product. I was sent shade 006, Midnight Blue to try. Oh goody, a perfect pick for me.
I almost bought this one in Paris but put it back as I reckoned I had enough navy shadow. Oh, how wrong I was. These shadows are a hybrid that's quite interesting texture-wise: not quite loose but not quite pressed, they feel smooth and creamy to the touch but if you dig about in the pot, the product will kick up. The finish is shimmery but not madly so, and the depth of colour and payoff with this shade is great.

I guess that's why it comes with a special little inner topper, so. Place this over the shadow and then screw the outer lid down, so it's all kept nicely in place.
I wore this to The Adjustment Bureau screening on Friday and it was a cinch to use: I always think anything even a wee bit loose in texture needs something to grip to, so first I scribbled on my lid with that fab Avon Gel Liner I featured last week. I drew it roughly to about three quarters of the way up to the crease and then smudged it up and out with my finger.
Working quickly - because that stuff sets - I packed on Midnight Blue with a brush and then quickly blended out the rough edges and brought it above the crease so it'd look nice and diffused, and that was basically it. I'm never too interested in blending 45 million different colours together like YouTube 'guru's' (sic) are always bizarrely advising us to, so this worked well for me for a very quick dramatic eye.
Longevity was good as well I reckoned, but then I had the benefit of something to stick it to. I also have fairly dry lids so I never really have a problem with shadow budging too much unless it's super-greasy.
Any downsides? Well, the only things that I can think of as minuses are the fact I don't think these'd travel too well and you would really need a couple of brushes to get the best results from them. Apart from that, a firm thumbs up. Lets take a look at the swatches, shall we?
Oh yes, it's safe to say I like this a lot.
