L’Occitane Eau Universelle Is The Perfect Summer Scent
Yep, we’ve been spoiled with the sun this year, but it wasn’t always that way. So at Beaut.ie we’ve been known to spot a seasonal shift by the new fragrance launch from L’Occitane. And as surely as cherry heralds spring, citrus means summer – and this year’s scents are some of the loveliest yet.
One balmy night of our honeymoon we ate dinner in a lemon grove, and it took just one sniff of Eau Universelle to transport me back. It’s gorgeous – fresh and sparkling and just perfect for the warmer weather. It’s so lovely, in fact, that it now holds equal ranking with my standard, much loved summer scent, Chanel’s Cristalle Eau Vert.
Designed to appeal to both men and women, Eau Universelle is described as a citrussy aromatic - the classic citrus notes are followed by light florals and muskier, woody base notes. The collection also includes the more floral Eau Ravissante, aimed at women, and the more aromatic Eau Captivante, for men.

Provencal springs and flowing fountains were the inspiration for all three, which are housed in gorgeous Art Deco inspired glass bottles that are as classy and timeless as the scents. They come in two sizes: the 50ml bottle, which I was given, is €26.95, but if you can stretch to it, the massive 300ml bottle is brilliant value at €47.50.
Three matching shower gels - €17.50 for 250ml - round out the collection, which launches nationwide from June 11th.
