How to do Meghan Markle's wedding hair yourself at home
Meghan Markle's wedding hair divided critics, but we loved it, and we want to do it ourselves at home
Meghan Markle's embracing her new life as Duchess of Sussex, complete with tights and tight hair. But if you were more of a fan of her signature messy hair look, particularly the style she wore under her veil, we've got a step-by-step guide to self-styling Meghan Markle's wedding hair at home.
Meghan's hair stylist on the day was Serge Normant, who told reporters on the day that it took him just 45 minutes and a pack of cheap hairpins to create the style. But anyone who's tried just pinning hair up here and there, hoping that an event-worthy style will just happen, will know that that info is not enough, Serge. In reality, it's the no-makeup makeup look of hair, and it takes time and practice to master yourself.
Because Serge wasn't giving us any more than his '45 mins and cheap hairpins' line, we're taking ghd Global Ambassador, Adam Reed's instructions.
Meghan Markle's Wedding Hair How-To
"The key to this look is to prep the hair to create the ultimate base with maximum shine and gloss. The whole look is ultra feminine, silky and soft to contrast with her structured and fitted dress."

Step 1
Start by creating a centre parting in the hair using the end of the ghd tail comb (€9). Make sure the parting is strong and is pulled back to the crown of the head.
Step 2
Blow dry out the hair for a glossy base, using the ghd air hairdryer (€129), which will hold and reflect shine throughout the day.

Step 3
Add loose waves throughout the hair using the ghd curve soft curl tong (€149). Loosely wrap the hair around the tong to ensure the curls aren’t too tight or precise.
Step 4
Pull the hair back into a low ponytail, at the nape of the head. Secure and ensure the ponytail is tight and finish with a spritz of final fix hairspray.
Step 5
Twist sections of the hair around the ponytail to create the low bun. Loosely wrap these sections around the ponytail to create the voluminous undone bun.
Step 6
Finish by creating loose waves around the face to frame and complete the look using the ghd curve soft curl tong. Direct each curl in a different direction for a looser and softer finish and finish with a spritz of ghd final fix hairspray (€11.95) for hold and shine."
