Hair Woes: Finding Klorane Useless. Why Doesn't Dry Shampoo Work For Me?
I'm almost afraid to admit to this problem, as the Beaut.ie mob seems to be awfully fond of the stuff, but I just can't seem to make dry shampoo work for me. It's not as if I don't want to love the stuff - to someone who washes her hair every other day and often stretches to the third day when time is of the essence, it sounds like it would be right up my street. But try as I might, I just can't seem to get it right.
I have a can of Klorane Gentle Dry Shampoo on the go right now (fashion mags and beauty blogs are always recommending it), and I've tried other brands in the past (though never the Beaut.ie fave that is Batiste). I tried it again today - perfect timing as I hadn't washed my hair in 2 days and it was looking rather flat and oily around my face. So here's my first problem - how do you manage to aim for the roots close to your face without actually getting a faceful of dry shampoo?
Problem number two - that delightful dusting of white powder that sends me prematurely grey and strengthens my resolve to book an appointment to have my hair coloured very soon (that whole premature grey look that has been oh-so-fashionable recently? So not for me, I discover with a headful of Klorane). But I know this could be addressed by something like the Batiste Coloured Dry Shampoos.

So I spray, I brush the shampoo through my locks with my fingers to disperse it and then I wait. After 5 minutes or so, I take a brush to my hair and brush until I've got rid of as much of the grey as I can manage. This is it, isn't it? Is there a vital step I'm missing? Because at the end of all this I can see a bit of an improvement in the sides of my hair, which don't look quite as slick and oily, but it's not a vast improvement.
Am I expecting too much? I really want to love dry shampoo, so I'm appealing to you - if you have any top tips or favourite products, let me know in the comments. My quest will continue and I'll let you know when I crack the secret!
Now I'm off to the shower with a bottle of real shampoo...
