Karl Lagerfeld was born in Hamberg in 1933. While best known as the creative director of Chanel (since 1983) he enjoyed icon status thanks to his countless collaborations with personalities of the fashion and art world.
His dramatic and theatrical fashion shows kept Chanel as the number one brand of iconic luxury. His creativity and out-of-the-box thought process made him one of the most influential figures in the global creative community. He was responsible for the iconic Double-C Chanel monograph making it one of the most recognisable brands in the world.
With his grey low-pony tail, sunglasses and cat Choupette, Karl Lagerfeld was himself a recognisable brand. And the world of fashion will miss him very much.
