Estee Lauder Illusionist Mascara

Last week Aphrodite and I paid a visit to the Estee Lauder counter in Liffey Valley, where we were assisted by the extremely helpful and lovely Emma. I noticed that she had some pretty spectacular mascara on, and asked her what it was. It was Estee Lauder's Illusionist Intense Maximum Curling Mascara. It's a brand new product and it's great - this stuff actually curls your lashes for you! Not surprising then that Estee Lauder are now 2nd in the mascara stakes, they're only pipped by Clinique here in Ireland. So of course, we couldn't pass that up, and we both got ourselves some.

This mascara defnitely does what it says on the label - it effectively curls lashes and separates them well, so you get good definition. The blurb promises up to 160% more curl! And how do they get this curl to happen? Well, the product contains an "advanced aerodynamic gel formula with innovative curling polymers gives lashes weightless, seductive curves, without stiffness or flaking". So now.

It's a great mascara for daytime or for a light evening makeup look. If you want more vampy lashes, it's probably not the one for you because it doesn't build up too much product on the lashes, but I was really impressed that it lived up to the claims made for it.
