The most effective facial hair removal techniques
Almost every single person has facial hair. Some may have lighter and thinner hair growth while others have a darker and far coarser growth and it is usually in these cases where women want to get it removed.
For the most part, facial hair is different from the hair on the rest of the body. It is predominantly hormonal. The removal of it should be given some amount of consideration.
Because facial hair can be so individual it is important to remember what is best for someone else may not work for you.
Here are some facial hair removal options
Shaving
As long as you are careful, shaving is painless. It is probably the least painful of all hair removal. By ensuring you use the correct balm or foam you can make the process as pain-free as possible. A pro with shaving is that you can do it yourself and at home.
Depilatory creams

Depilatory creams dissolve the hairs at a skin level, with a similar result to shaving. You leave it on for a few minutes and then wipe it off. It can be an easy option as it can be done at home. However, they are not always effective on coarser hair. The cream is full of chemicals so may be harsh on sensitive skin and hair regrowth is quite quick as the hair is not removed from the root.
Waxing
Waxing is an extremely effective way of removing hair. It is carried out by applying wax to the skin, then quickly removing it along with the hair. This method is quick. It removes hair from the root so it is long-lasting, with an average of 6 weeks before regrowth for most. However, waxing does involve removing the top layer of skin so it can be painful and may cause slight skin sensitivity.
Waxing of the face can cause friction allergy, bruising and can also result in broken veins – it is quite a harsh treatment for delicate skin.
Threading
Threading works by removing the hair from the root much like waxing but with a different technique. With threading, the hair is removed with a simple cotton thread. It is the perfect hair removal treatment for people with sensitive skin as it uses no chemicals and it is not harsh on the skin.
Laser hair removal
Laser hair removal is a longer-term method that involves destroying the roots with heat and light. Semi-permanent hair loss can be obtained in laser technology with six to seven sessions of lasers. It can be permanent, but usually just reduces the amount of hair and makes it finer and lighter. Laser removal works best for darker and coarser hair growths though, as the laser works by detecting pigment.
