The difference in anti-ageing from your 20's to your 60's
Anti-ageing is something you need to think about earlier than you might think. Remember at any age, prevention is better than the cure.
Anti-ageing skincare is something I didn't take seriously until I was 30 years old. In fact, you really need to start taking anti-ageing precautions at the age of 25 and even before that. If I were to give a teenager some advice, it would be to start wearing an SPF moisturiser religiously every single day. This will protect your skin from an early age from the harmful effects of the sun. Let's look at what the different stages of ageing are like throughout the decades.
In your 20's
In your 20's you could be forgiven for forgetting to use anti-ageing skincare. Your skin looks smooth and youthful and is still making plumping collagen. However, by your mid 20's your collagen production will begin to deplete. You could start to incorporate retinol as a treatment a couple of times a week and continue protecting your skin with an SPF moisturiser each day.
In your 30's
Your skin's collagen production starts to slow down. You'll begin to notice fine lines forming around your eyes and mouth area. If you haven't used sun protection in your 20's pigmentation marks may begin to appear. It's a good idea to look into a good non-mechanical exfoliator. Something with glycolic acid or an enzyme cleanser will help to speed up your slowing natural exfoliation process. Scrubs are out and chemical exfoliation is in, didn't you know?

In your 40's
You will see the effects of depleted collagen stores. Those fine lines are getting deeper. It's time to step up your anti-ageing routine. You might think about having a course of professional anti-ageing treatments like a course of peels or microneedling. Incorporate an intensive night treatment a couple of times a week. Keep up your chemical exfoliation once or twice a week.
In your 50's and 60's
You might find your skin a little drier when you hit your 50's. You can switch your usual moisturiser for a richer version to give you extra comfort. Again, continue with the good habits you started in your 30's and 40's. A great vitamin serum and a chemical exfoliator are both good treatments to continue with at home. You can also add in an overnight hydrating mask for the extra moisture boost your skin needs.
