Do you dare to wear eyeshadow without eyeliner?
If you are a big fan of eyeliner we are about to try to convert you. Don't look away just yet; give it a chance. You might discover you love eyeshadow without eyeliner.
Liner is a big trend, huge, in fact. We all love a good Bardot-esque flicked out liner. However, like pretty much everything, there is a time and a place for liner. And there also is a time and a place for none.
I love, love, love an eyeshadow look without liner. It softens a smokey eye; it gives a youthful appearance. Makeup looks fresh and clean with no liner and in general, it looks like you are wearing less makeup. Rihanna is a big fan of a bold lip and no eyeliner. The look can work really well for brides, too.
If you're going to try the look there are a few elements that will make the look work out.
- Lots of concealer. Dark circles and redness around the eyes will make your eye makeup look messy and unfinished. For a perfect look, apply lots of concealer for a crisp, clean finish.
- Lots of mascara. Without liner, you still need something to frame your eyes and eyeshadow. Use your best mascara for seriously full lashes. Make sure you get all those lashes at the outer corner.
- A little white pencil in the waterline. This is a great tool for brightening up your eyes to add to the crisp and clean look.
- Blending. Your eyeshadow is the main focus so there is no room for mistakes. You need to get your biggest blending brushes and go crazy to really blow out the edges of your eyeshadow.
- Brows. Beautifully groomed brows will also help to frame your eye makeup and make it look finished.
- Bold lips. This isn't a must; nude lips will work too. But do try it with a rich burgundy lip; you just might love it.
I'm going to show you a few of my recent favourite no-liner looks to give you some inspiration.
