Can Certain Smellz Make You Seem Younger?

No prizes for guessing that Dinner Hair is not top of the attractive aromas list at Beaut.ie HQ, but did you know that certain non Mammy's house smells may actually make people think you're younger than you really are?

Research conducted by The Smell & Taste Research Foundation in the US indicated that grapefruit-based scents are associated with younger age groups, and scientists at Rutgers University in New Jersey tested a whole variety of vegetable, fruit, and floral scents with a view to creating an "anti-aging" perfume. They found that the fragrance of apples was regarded as the most youthful, while rose was most associated with a more mature lady. So stick with fruity, clean, citrus, and refreshing numbers if you want to knock the years off!

Oh and in case you're wondering - the research that the lads in NJ were doing ultimately resulted in the production of a "psycho-stimulant elixir" (don't laugh, that's what the website calls it) which claims to make wearers smell an average of 8 years younger.

The elixir in question is Harvey Prince's AgelessFantasy perfume, and is on sale online now for just €69.98 for anyone who doesn't need to make sure a fragrance, y'know, smells nice before they buy, or from Harvey Nichols in Dundrum for anyone who does.
