Budget v Blow-out: Two New Volumising Mascaras
I was really excited a while ago; I thought that I had found my very own dupe to tell you all about.
Two mascaras that both promised that elusive eye lash quality - volume - landed on my desk and for all intents and purposes, for the first couple of times I used both, they both were great.
I put Lancome Hypnose Volume-a-Porter (€27.50) on my right eye and Bourjois Push up Volume Glamour (€12.99) on the left and honestly, they both did the exact same thing. They lifted, divided lashes and even gave a bit of curl and the pigment lasted for a good few hours without flaking.
So, as I said, the word dupe rang in my ears like the bell does in between boxing matches. Dupe! Dupe! Dupe! Dupe!
But alas, it wasn't to be. While the Bourjois version is a good price, it doesn't last. What I mean is, the effect lasts for the first four or so times you use it but after that it starts to become clumpy and flaky. Booo!

Unless, unless it was 'corked' - like the time I thought I hated Lancome Hypnose mascara because the tube I was given had dried out before I even used it once - it's just good to use a couple of times.
There's a reason why Lancome Hypnose is a cult favourite. Actually, it's not even just a cult favourite, it's a favourite favourite. The new Volume-á-Porter version does what it sets out to do and it's as simple as that. It's your old friend Hypnose with extra oomph. It lengthens, curls and lasts all day.
While Bourjois Push up Volume Glamour is out now, you will have to wait till August 1st to get your mitts on the Volume-á-Porter but it'll be worth the wait. The Hypnose legend continues.
