Bling Strands: The Next Big Thing For Hair!?

It must have been a slow news day when America's Fox News at 5 featured Bling Strands as "one of the top 5 hottest new trends in beauty."

According to Fox, (along with hair wraps, spray in crazee hair colour and draw-on moles, I presume), Bling Strands, pieces of sparkly thread you knot into your hair for, um, some reason which escapes me, are now H.O.T. With a capital H, a capital O and oh, you get where I'm going with this.

As I looked through the site, and particularly the gallery of skunk-haired gals, one name kept screaming through my mind, and it was that paragon of class, style and elegance, Liz McDonald.  The Corrie barmaid would swoon for these yokes I reckon,  and they'd go really nicely with her array of bought-down-the-market-for-a-fiver cleavage-revealing lycra tops and cheap Penney's jewellery. Which means that anyone who is not menopausal mutton dressed as lamb should probably be advised to steer well clear.

Will you be checking Bling Strands out should they sneak their way across the Atlantic? As for me, I know where I'm coming from, and it's a firm 'knot I' on this particular 'trend'.
