How to create your own Hollywood vanity suitcase

I needed a makeup station for myself at home so I decided to create my very own bespoke vanity suitcase.

This vanity suitcase is so simple to do and looks really cool. All you will need is a table, an old style trunk suitcase, a mirror and a set of LED lights. The whole project took me half an hour to put together.

I had an old metal suitcase that was used more for decoration than as a practical travel bag. You can find similar vintage suitcases on sites like eBay or Amazon or you can use an old case you might have lying around in the attic. Then you will need a small table to sit it on. For the interior, I found a perfect sized frameless mirror in IKEA. I found the lights for around the mirror on eBay.

I used some double-sided Velcro to stick the mirror and lights into the lid of the suitcase. Stick your mirror into the centre of the upper lid and then just to attach your lights at the edges, and voila - your pretty, girly and bespoke vanity unit.

The case will hold loads of product and technically, it's portable. If you choose a small enough case you can easily close up shop and take it away with you - no need to pack a vanity bag anymore!
