Beaut.ie reviews for Bord Gais Book Club: what are you reading?
Last week I reviewed my latest read for The Bord Gais Book Club - read it over here. I loved the Crimson Petal and the White - it's a big huge fat read with a great plot and gives a real insight into Victorian London.
I toned it down for their site - but of course I don't need to do that here so I'll add some extra notes to my review which will make sense to anyone who's read the book. William Rackham is a complete and utter prick. All the women in his household are completely under his control - from the servants to Sugar, his wife and daughter - and he treats them all really badly. Of course he is a product of his age but come on.
Thank god for feminism.

Anyway I'm now reading Freedom by Johnathon Franzen and really enjoying it too.
