Aldo Nail Lacquer Review + Swatch
Having a nail line seems to be Quite The Thing for fashion brands currently: American Apparel's got one, Superdry has a suite of brights for digits on the way and Aldo's is out now. I was in the Henry Street branch on Saturday bowing to the inevitable and finally buying some wellies - check 'em out here (€40 for those interested) - because it seems we haven't seen the back of the snow yet. Sigh.
Cleverly placed at the counter where magpies like me will spot them were five or six nail shades and about the same of gloss. I'm not mad on gloss, ignored those and honed right on on the polish. While the shade selection wasn't amazing there were two that caught my eye - a Dior Black Sequins-alike shade called Hit the Pavement and a pinky neutral, called Nude Illusion.
Nothing madly dramatic about either but for €5, these are both actually very good basic day/night shades to have on hand. Literally. Ha! I kill me, etc.

The gloop is good and easy to work with, you'll get opactity in two coats and the brush is nice. In a nutshell, these are fuss-free, cheap, uncomplicated little bottles of goodness I can imagine lots of girls liking a lot, and the price isn't going to put anyone off either. Hit the Pavement in particular is going to be a really great Christmas go-to.
Have you tried Aldo's polishes? What did you think?
