Detoxing is about more than drinking endless cups of green tea and eating a million fruits per day. You can detox your skin too, and a brilliant way to do it is by using a salt scrub.

I've been using The Sanctuary Salt Scrub recently. It's "an indulgent body scrub to remove dead skin cells and refine the texture of the skin". Salt scrubs are particularly effective because they not only soften skin but also help to draw out toxins and can aid in the battle against cellulite.

The Sanctuary scrub contains dead sea salts to exfoliate, and sweet almond, jojoba and evening primrose oils are included to soften and moisturise skin. After using it on legs, bum, arms (and anywhere skin can be prone to being a bit rough) they definitely felt smoother and the oils in the formulation left my skin sweet scented and nourished.

The only downside to this scrub is the inclusion of sodium chloride in the ingredients - and it's number one on the list, meaning it's the biggest ingredient. This is basically table salt and has no benefits for skin. In fact, if you've got high blood pressure you'd be just as well to steer clear of this, as soaking in a bath containing sodium chloride can be pretty dodgy for anyone with this condition. It would be great if this product ditched it altogether and used only sea salt, as otherwise it's really nice.

You can pick the scrub up in Boots and it'll cost about €12-13.
