Yiz were all chatting the other day about moisturisers containing rose oil or extracts.
MelSea told us, "I’m from Melbourne and just back from a trip home, the big thing there is organic rosehip oil. I’ve been eating Tim Tams for Ireland since I got home and no signs of a spot, all I do is put it on straight after the shower while skin is still damp. Moisturiser goes on top if you want". While she can't buy the brand she got at home, Kosmea, in Ireland, she's recommending Trilogy - a New Zealand brand we've blogged about a time or two - and Aubrey Organics. They "do a really nice range of Rosa Mosqueta products including oil which are often discounted on www.vitacost.com, they have moisturisers etc and a friend of mine highly recommends them", MelSea advises.
Now, skincare manufacturers don't just use roses because they're lovely fragranced flowers, they use them because they're good for your skin. Rose oil contains lots of things we need to keep it in tip-top condition - including antixoidants and vitamins. So, who else makes good rosey skincare treats?

Our old friend Dr. Hauschka, of course. His Rose Day Cream (from health food shops and Clerys) is a cult classic that's amazing for dry skins. If your skin isn't quite so dehydrated, you'll like Rose Day Cream Light a lot, too. Or try Darphin's wonderfully scented Rose Aromatic Day Care (from department stores like Arnotts and salons nationwide), which is a gorgeous product that's a dream to use. I also like Greek naturals brand Korres a lot, and their Wild Rose 24-Hour Moisturiser (at Harvey Nichols and Nue Blue Eriu) sounds like an equally nice way to experience this ingredient.
