The 2014 GEMS Education Solutions report has detailed the amounts that governments spend on education, which uncovered the average pay for teachers from around the world.
Buzzfeed Blue, have made a handy and rather interesting video that shows the average teacher salary around the world.

Ireland does not feature but we did a bit of research to see how our educators compare. According to the ASTI it turns out that entry level teachers who started work after February 1st on 2012 (on point 1 of a 25 point scale) receive an average of €30, 702 while those at the top end of the scale can earn €59,940. In dollars (to put it into perspective with the video) a new teacher in Ireland earns about $35,000.
