We love a good winter woolie, and even though when the weather is cold and we want to wear a onesie to work, there is a more chic option to avoid stares from your work mates. Introducing the new season winter warmer, the poncho.
Now, the poncho isn't exactly a new trend, rather an updated version of what we've seen from past seasons. The seventies is written all over this, so with fringing and chevron, you can step back in time to Woodstock.
The key thing with getting this look right is to keep the poncho, no matter if it's printed or plain, the main piece of your outfit. As they can be more oversize, you need to keep the lower half of your body quite fitted, so these work well over skinny jeans and leggings.

Wear with some nice ankle boots too that have a heel, so you get some height with the longer length of the piece itself.
You might wonder what to wear under them too. As they can be made with synthetic fibres rather than pre wool, they can get a bit hot. Wear a cotton layer underneath to keep you warm but not hot, and balance your temperature.
You'll also notice that this season the fringe is back so it's another trend to incorporate in the same piece. Two for the price of one! There are plenty to choose from, and none too expensive either.
