Beauties! I'm back! And I am a bit too excited as a new season is upon us. Yes, it's safe to talk about Spring Summer in all its glory and colour and prettiness. The trends to come over the next few months are exciting and fresh, and although the Winter chill is still in the air, we can look forward to the season by getting you up to speed on the trends to research. And so, without further ado, let's begin shall we?
I'll break you in gently with one of the hottest, but more practical trends, that is denim. Yep, your jeans, jacket and shirts are coming out to play once again. Jeans are a wardrobe staple and they are not just a trend for a season or two. Nope, they stay here. Forever. But how we wear it is changing thanks to designers like Chloe, Stella McCartney, Gucci and Fendi all of whom mastered the look.
The focus is not just on jeans styles; shirt shapes are larger and billowing to be worn on their own in the summer with sandals, jackets are back but are fitted and short and the denim dress will be your wardrobe must-have.
Celebs have always been denim fans, but I particularly like how Poppy Delevingne styles hers. She mixes denim colours to allow for the double denim look to be wearable for casual and dressy occasions. So if you wanna get the Poppy look, a shirt is your first point of call. The double denim trend was probably my least favourite look of the last few season's but by simply colour blocking the denim, it somehow has captured my attention. But now, where can you get this new season look? Here are a few of my favourites to start you off.

If I was to give some prudent advice, start with a good pair of jeans that suit your body shape and are comfortable to style up and down. Next add the shirt to your collection; you can opt for the traditional denim shirt style (boohoo.com has some good picks) or look for a style that's longer to wear over skinny black jeans (check out Cos for these).
And a denim jacket is a great summer wardrobe essential, but hold off on that for now, as you won't be wearing it for a few months. Then there are accessories! Whistles (which is stocked in Brown Thomas, House of Fraser and online) have some amazing denim bags for you to test the trend.
So what do you think of denim? Do you think the double denim look is the look to beat this season? Let's debate!
