Being a qualified nail technician for the past eight years, nails are most definitely my thing. But, like anything when it's done in excess, it's not good for you. And I don't mean actually not good for you because we all know nails are good for us, but rather not good for the condition of our poor little talons.
If you've decided to take a nail break of late, I have the top three products I would recommend for getting your nails back into good nick right on time for summer.
First up, this is a brand new product just launched by Essence Cosmetics and it's available in Penneys nationwide for just €3.79, the Quick & Easy Sponge with Nail Caring Oil. It's an integrated sponge soaked in nail caring oil that you can dip your fingers in and out of.
The formula has been specially developed with almond and argan oil to moisturise nails and instantly smooth cuticles. It also has an amazing scent! If your nails are really a sight for sore eyes I would recommend carrying one of these in your handbag and dipping your fingers in and out a couple of times per day and gently massage the oil into your nails.

Next up, another brand new product on the market - the Sally Hansen 18K Gold Hardener. Gold is becoming one of the hottest ingredients in beauty thanks to its remarkable ability to stimulate collagen, boost elasticity and increase firmness.
This formula combines real 18-karat gold with peptides and amino acids, ingredients known to promote healthy growth. A shatterproof shield protects nails so they can grow longer and stronger. It's so easy to apply, just brush it on and watch as the streak free formula dries in less than 60 seconds. Nails are left looking luminous and luxe.
The Sally Hansen 18K Gold Hardener is available from pharmacies nationwide for €9.99. We took a close look at it a short while back, see the review here.
On to my last product the Clarins Hand and Nail Treatment Cream. This is a little bit of a splurge but something I feel is worth every penny. It's am emollient-rich moisturising hand cream with soothing Sesame Oil and fortifying Japanese Mulberry.

The moisturiser forms an invisible protective glove that keeps skin smooth, silky and minimises signs of ageing. It also helps strengthen nails and condition cuticles. It's also great for people who suffer from dermatitis as it softens and comforts chapped, irritated, sore hands and provides moisture relief. Clarins Hand and Nail Treatment Cream is on special offer at the moment for €18.90 in Debenhams.
