Friday Feelings: Is a €2 Eyeliner the same as a €20 Eyeliner?

There was a time when I didn't see the point of splashing out on liquid eyeliner - every one I tried was the exact same and did the same thing so why would I bother I spending more than a tenner on one?

The eyeliners I was trying all came from Penneys but I have sampled some pricier products and now I believe I know the reason - it's staying power. Budget eyeliners, though they might look good for a couple of hours, just don't last.

I tried Cailyn's Idefine Liquid Eyeliner this week and it is budge proof. Seriously, it sets in a couple of seconds and then it just can't be rubbed off. For that reason it's great for a lining pro but it can prove problematic for the wobbly-handed, like me. Lots of heavy duty cleanser and cotton buds were involved when attempting a cat-eye flick with this baby. (We had a look at Cailyn's O! Wow Brush last week, read all about it.)

The bottom line is, you pay for it to stay.

Eyeliners that you can pick up for the price of a pint of milk are handy and some are really vibrant at first but they just don't last as long. The more expensive ones don't just last longer on the eye they last longer in the pen. It does depend on how well you take care of your makeup but I find the budget liners dry up much quicker that ones you spend a bit of money on. It probably works out cheaper to buy a liner that costs more in the first place.

Do you splash out on eyeliners, liquid or other? Which one is your favourite? Do you think that price matters in ways other than staying power?
