I am very boring when it comes to experimenting with eye shadow. Yes, I did have the obligatory blue phase and of course I add a bit of sparkle and glitz at Christmas but because someone told me years ago that brown shades suit blue eyes, that's what I tend to lean towards.
However (there's always a however) I've recently acquired a palette from Sleek that I have gleefully being playing around with. The I-Divine palette in Au Natural is quite simply divine. I love the dusky tones - nothing too bright for me! - and they are so damn blendable. There are HEAPS of shade combinations to choose from which is excellent for the more adventurous amongst us and I had a conversation with a bona fide beauty junky the other day who was adamant that Sleek palettes are Urban Decay dupes. At €9.99 you can't really go wrong.
Since Urban Decay really is the go-to for eye-shadow palettes (Naked, anyone?) let's talk about some others.
I know I'm going back to brown but Benefit's Big Beautiful Eyes is the business. It's the best introduction to eye contouring a gal can have and once you get your paws on one, it's a make-up bag staple for life. And then of course there's the Smokin' Eyes kit which has helped manys the girl (and guy) out with their night-time look on more than one occasion - myself included.
