I love the chemist. LOVE IT. As a teenager there was no way in the world I would have even considered going into a department store for cosmetics so I would spend happy hours in my local pharmacies scouring the shelves for Aapri, Anne French, rollerball lipglosses and Collection 2000 eye shadows to add to my burgeoning beauty collection.
Ok, so while I'm not so fond of having to dodge nosy auld biddies behind the counter, there's actually never been a better time to buy beauty at the pharmacy. Teenagers these days don't know they're born *tuts in old lady fashion* because budget beauty is flippin' brilliant nowadays. Those amazing L'Oreal Infallible eye shadows we checked out recently, Catrice's huge offering, Gosh's colour explosion and more finds under a tenner than you can shake a stick at in Boots. And most of it is really pretty darn good.
This is one sector that has hugely pulled up its socks, especially in the past couple of years, and I find I'm using more and more products from brands I'd previously have felt I'd moved on from. Not hardly - Bourjois, 17, L'Oreal Paris and Rimmel are back with a bang in my makeup bag in the last year and I'm loving the results I'm getting.
